Practicality and restraint of minimalism, elegance and verified proportions of classics, innovative and bold technologies in strict design - all this can be described
in one word - neoclassicism. The noble and restrained decor of this style is not conservative as it might seem - it is quite multifaceted and not afraid of innovations.
But in order not to make a mistake in the definition, it is necessary to know the characteristic features of neoclassicism.
Fireplace
As already mentioned, the fireplace is the center of the room around which the entire interior is built.
This is an integral and indispensable element of modern classics in the interior, without which the style would not be itself.
In addition to performing an aesthetic function, the fireplace is also that warm home, which is able not only to heat the space,
but also to gather the whole family around itself. It is so pleasant to spend time with family and friends having a conversation
and a cup of good tea and watching the live fire right in your living room!
Natural materials complemented by modern
One of the features that distinguish the style of modern classic in the interior from classical conservatism is the use of natural materials together with modern ones.
So, marble, granite, ceramics and tuff will be excellent natural helpers that will perfectly combine even with simple plastic. Parquet is good for the floor,
and the ceiling can be decorated with decorative panels under the tree. And no matter what room you equip - an old house or a brand new apartment with panoramic
windows - this approach will be appropriate everywhere.
Being an integral part of the interiors of the 18th and 19th centuries, the capitone finds its embodiment in neoclassicism and is gaining serious popularity. And if earlier mainly armchairs and sofas were quilted, such as the famous Chesterfield, now wall panels, tiles, mattresses and even plumbing exterior are involved.
Single space
As for zoning the space in the interior of the apartment in a modern classic, here it is necessary to abandon a large number of small rooms and create one large room. It will be the conditional center of the whole composition, concurrently being a spacious living room. This combined room should have smooth transitions from one room to another. Columns and half-columns can become excellent distinctions into zones, and doors can be replaced with arches or semi-arches.
